Services

Consultation

Hours:

Monday to Friday: 8am-12pm and 4pm-7pm for consults.
Saturday: 9am-12pm and 4pm-6pm for consults.
We close between 12pm-4pm each day for lunch and surgery/procedures.

We pride ourselves on seeing ‘anything that walks through the door’ and have veterinarians confident in consultations with dogs and cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, mice, reptiles, birds and a wide variety of wildlife.

Consultations Are On A Walk-In Basis

Consultations are provided on a walk-in basis rather than by appointment time. Just pop down during our consultation hours and you will be attended to by one of the on duty veterinarians. Patients are seen in order of arrival unless they are brought in as an emergency, and we ask that waiting clients remain patient as emergencies are seen immediately.

What To Expect

Compassion and Patient Care

NRVH is a special place where we pride ourselves on our compassion and patient care. We always try to be as open as possible with our clients regarding the treatment of their animals and have them involved in the decision making process for the treatments provided. For those who do not have the finances up front we offer Openpay, a quick and easy method, which allows one to pay for the costs of our services over a set period of time. Speak to one of our receptionists about this if required.

We offer compassionate and understanding care and are always trying to ensure the owner is aware of how we are treating their pets and they are involved with the decision making involving the treatment of their pet.

Treatment

Depending on the illness, injury or condition, treatment involves supportive care and medication as an outpatient or hospitalisation for more serious conditions.

Surgery

We provide routine surgery for all small animals including desexing and dentals. We also offer surgical treatment of a wide range of conditions including soft tissue, orthopedics and reproductive procedures. We have extensive experience in surgery in all species from dogs and cats to rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, rats, mice, reptiles and birds.

Emergency Care

At NRVH we offer an after hours emergency service year-round, with the exception of Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. After our regular hours the phone line is diverted to one of our veterinarians who is on call. The vet can answer your questions over the phone and can meet you at the clinic if necessary to provide consultation, treatment, and even after hours surgery if required.

To be clear we do not provide 24 hour in-hospital care; if a patient requires constant supervision they will be referred to an emergency clinic which has staff on-site 24h a day.

Orthopedics

We have up to date and comprehensive orthopedic equipment and perform an extensive range of orthopedic surgery including Tibial Tuberosity Advancement (TTA) for cruciate injury, luxating patella repair, fracture repair and arthrodesis surgery.

Reproduction

NRVH has been servicing dog and cat breeders for over 50 years and we continue to improve our reproductive area with up to date procedures, equipment and staff that are passionate in this area. We have the latest in-house progesterone testing giving you results in 10 minutes, we offer artificial insemination with fresh, chilled or frozen semen and we have extensive experience in caesarians using the most up to date protocols and experienced staff. We provide assistance and advice on all reproductive matters including mating, bitch care, neonatal care, whelping and aftercare.

Exotics

NRVH is building a large and loyal client base of exotic pet owners from all over Sydney and beyond. Dr Michelle Dalli has extensive experience in this area and with Dr Mami Nomiya and Dr Maya Silberstein your special pets are well cared for both medically as well as providing surgical procedures including desexing, general soft tissue surgery and dental procedures. We treat rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, mice, ferrets, reptiles, amphibians, birds and wildlife.
