Emergency

At NRVH we offer an after-hours emergency service year-round, except for certain public holidays such as Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. This service is only provided for our dedicated clients and specific ailments. After our regular hours, the phone line is diverted to a veterinary service called VetCheck, which screens the calls and determines if it’s an emergency that our veterinarians can assist with. Then, if needed one of our veterinarians on call will be contacted and arrangements will be made to meet you at the clinic and provide consultation, treatment, and even after-hours surgery if required.

To be clear, we do not provide 24-hour in-hospital care; if patients require constant supervision, they will be referred to an emergency clinic with staff on-site 24 hours a day.
